Encounter Church exists to connect people with God and create an atmosphere that shows the love of Christ.

About

We are committed to worshipping God passionately, teaching the Bible practically,

and serving our community and those we’ve been assigned to.

When we gather as Encounter Church, we create a space for the Spirit of God to move among us. Each testimony, each prayer, and each moment together becomes an opportunity for God to work in our lives. Just as iron sharpens iron, our encounters with each other sharpen our faith and deepen our understanding of God.

We encounter God through

Our prayer is that Encounter Church will be a place where his presence dwells, where lives are changed, and where his love is shared. We are in expectation for the encounters God has in store for us a church and for those who will come through our doors.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, containing divine truths, guidance for living, and accounts of God's interactions with people throughout history. We also believe that following the Word of God means applying its teachings to our daily life.

Worship with Us | Encounter Church KC

Worship

Worship is a vital aspect of our encounter with God. When we come together in worship, we invite the presence of God among us. Worship is not merely a performance; it is a response to the God we have encountered.

It is a sacred dialogue, a place where we can express our

adoration, our sorrow, our gratitude, and our petitions. As we lift our voices in song and prayer, we create an environment where the Holy Spirit can move and touch lives.

We believe that we are created in the image of God,

to establish an intimate relationship with him, fulfilling His will here on earth.

But because of Adam and Eve’s willful sin in the garden, sin entered the world, impacting all of humanity. Therefore, because of our inherent sinful nature received from that moment in the garden, we were separated from God.

Genesis 1-3

Romans 1: 18-32

We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins as the ultimate sacrifice,

therefore offering the atonement of sins for all mankind through His death, burial, and resurrection.

While salvation is available to all, it is only experienced through our response to His gracious gift by faith. For those who respond, we are baptized by the Holy Spirit, becoming children of God. We are then given a new nature and identity in Christ. As a result of our new relationship with God through His Son Jesus, we commit ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit, bearing fruit, and walking in good works that God has prepared beforehand for us to do.

John 1:12

John 3:16

We believe that every word of the Bible is inspired by God and is without error.

The Word of God reveals God’s nature and will for all of humanity. It is the foundation of our faith and belief system. We affirm that while the Scriptures are accurate in all matters and serve as a vital part of our relationship with God. We believe that the teachings of the Scriptures have a prominent place in our church.

2 Timothy 3:16–17

Hebrews 4:12

We believe in generosity through giving.

John 3:16 says that For God so loved that He gave, therefore, so do we. When we are generous and faithful in our giving, we are trusting God to provide. Our goal in giving it to fund the ministry of the local church for the glory of God.

It is because of God’s faithfulness through our gifts that we can do what we’re called to do and be. We don’t give to Encounter Church, we give through Encounter Church.

We believe that there is only one living and true God,

who exists in three distinct persons —

God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

These three, making up the Trinity are equal in essence and distinct in function.

Matthew 28:19

1 John 5: 7-8

What we
Believe

Not only are we called to worship, we are also called to witness to the lost by sharing our God encounters with others. Our personal stories of faith about how God transformed our lives offers encouragement, inspiration and hope that he can do the same thing in their lives. Let us not shy away from sharing our struggles or our victories; each story can ignite a spark in someone else's heart to seek out their own encounter with God.
